My favorite website BoingBoing has posted another article related to Petaluma. This time it's featuring some cool photography at the Singer Gallery on "Slow Food, Slow Livin'." My favorite is the cool pic of the woman who "knows her chickens," which is a nice segue to the previous post - a hilariously strange Petaluma Chicken Promo Video from 1932. And last December they helped break the story on our rampant Zombie Chicken problem.
For those of you who don't know, Petaluma was once known as the Chicken Capital of the World. We've tried to grow since then, but we cling to our old-timeyness. Lots of movies have been made here because of that, like "American Graffiti" and "Peggy Sue Gets Married." But we have funky too. You can find really tacky antique stores right next to expensive boutiques and the aforementioned Singer Gallery downtown. Our new "Theater District" has some potential - although it's still just one theater. Petaluma has good restaurants, good schools, and great local entertainment. And zombie chickens. What more could you possibly want?
